1-2-3 Pie Crust

Ingredients

1 cup flour
2 Tbl ice water
3 heaping Tbl Crisco
A few shakes of salt


Instructions

Mix flour, Crisco and salt.
Use a food processor, and just a few buzzes are enough.
Add ice water and mix until it forms a ball.
Makes crust for an 8" pie.

Kim Says: This was my grandmother’s recipe.  The secret to a flaky crust is to mix and handle as little as possible.  You can roll out the crust on floured wax paper.  For a 9” pie crust with cut-outs for the top, use 1 2/3 cup flour, 5 heaping Tbl Crisco and 3 Tbl ice water.  Don’t forget the salt! Fill with you favorite filling and bake according to your recipe.
